The Indian men’s cricket team will clash against England in the semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Thursday.

The IND vs ENG T20 World Cup 2024 semi-final match will start at 8:00 PM IST. Live streaming and live telecast will be available in India.

India and England have both won the T20 World Cup. The Indian men’s cricket team, led by MS Dhoni, were the inaugural champions in 2007 while England, the current holders, claimed the crown in 2010 and 2022.

Interestingly, the two teams faced each other in the semi-finals of the 2022 edition as well with the England cricket team coming out on top by 10 wickets thanks to Jos Buttler and Alex Hales. England went on to beat Pakistan in the final to win their second T20 crown.

India last reached the T20 World Cup final in 2014, where they lost to Sri Lanka.

So far, India are unbeaten in the T20 World Cup 2024 and sealed a top four spot with a victory against Australia in their final Super 8 fixture earlier this week.

After beginning their campaign by beating Ireland, Jasprit Bumrah’s heroics helped them beat arch-rivals Pakistan in a low-scoring thriller. They later beat the co-hosts USA to lock in the top spot before their final group match against Canada was washed out.

In the Super 8 stage, they picked up comfortable victories over Afghanistan and Bangladesh before edging out Australia, who defeated them in the ODI World Cup final last year.

Captain Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh have been India’s key performers in the tournament so far but Virat Kohli has struggled for runs.

England, on the other hand, narrowly scraped through the group stage. They began the Super 8 on a strong note with a comfortable win over the West Indies, but a defeat to South Africa halted their momentum.

They needed a big win against the USA in their final match and a comprehensive all-round performance produced exactly that. They beat the co-hosts by 10 wickets and 62 balls to spare, which boosted their net run rate significantly and confirmed their place in the semi-finals.

The English challenge in the Americas has been spearheaded by Phil Salt and Jos Buttler. Adil Rashid and Jofra Archer have been amongst the wickets.
